TURLOUGH, THE BRAVE (Toirdhealbhach Treun). AKA and see "Barony Jig (1) (The)," "Fisherman's Jig (The)," "Green Gates (2) (The)," "Redican's Mother," "River Lee (The)," “Trealoch Lauder.” Irish, Air (9/8 time, "animated"). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABBCC. O’Neill seems to have taken the melody note-for-note from O’Farrell’s Pocket Companion (1806), where is appears as “Trealoch Lauder,” a corruption of the Irish name. Alternatively, he perhaps had it from O'Daly, where it can be found under the title "Toirdhealbhach Láidir" (Turlough the Brave).
