ADRAIN'S REEL. American, Reel (cut time). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. "Adrian's Reel" is from the playing of Missouri fiddler Fred Stoneking (1933-2009), born in Henry County. The hornpipe was also in the repertory fiddlers Pete McMahon and Dwight Lamb, and was also played by Fred's father, Lee Stoneking (1907-1989), who was among the best fiddlers of his generation in west central Missouri (recorded in the field playing the tune in the 1970's). It may, however, have been named for Missouri fiddler Fred Adreon (1871-1949), who was the source for "Adrian's Hornpipe."
