BIG BOAT OF INVER, THE. Scottish, "The Big Boat of Inver" was composed by Atholl gamekeeper and fiddler-composer biography:John Crerar. Crerar researcher Eilidh Scammell writes that the title refers to a ferry boat that traversed the River Tay at Inver, prior to the bridge being built at nearby Dunkeld in 1808. See also Crerar's "Merry Lads of Inver (The)."
