QUADRILLE DU PEUPLE 2ÈME PARTIE. French-Canadian, Reel (cut time). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB'. According to Soucy researcher Jean Duval, the piece is derived from a song, "Iras-tu voir les filles mon p’tit gars" (Will you go see the girls, my little man), but is also a version of a reel best known as "Reel à neuf," of which there are many versions in Quebec. Duval thinks the ancestral tune may have been "Lord MacDonald (4)."
