ROOT HOG OR DIE [3]. American, Reel (2/4 time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABBCC. The tune is attributed in Coes to song composer Daniel Decatur Emmett (1815-1904) of blackface minstrel fame. The first strain is shared with the "Dubuque" family of tunes.
