Sedlak, originally from N:Bohemia, was a musician, music instructor, and dance band leader in Portland, Oregon N: in the 1860's and 1870's. N:Lumbye was the conductor of the Tivoli Park dance band in Copenhagen, Denmark. N:Several editions of this popular set of waltzes were published in America in the 1850's. N:It also appears in the Peter Beemer manuscript, from Idaho in the 1860's. Z:V.T.
