SIR RONALD MACDONALD. AKA and see "Lady Betty Hay." Scottish, Reel (cut time). G Minor. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB (Surenne): AAB (Athole, Kohler): AABB' (Kerr). “Very Old” states Gow (1799), perhaps referring to Robert Bremner's printing of the tune under the title "Lady Betty Hay" forty years earlier. The song “Lizzy Lindsay” mentions a Sir Ronald:

Now lassie me thinks you ken little,
If you say that kina ken me,
For my name is Sir Ronald MacDonald,
A chieftain of high degree.

Cho:
She has kilted her coat of white satin,
And her petticoat up to the knee,
And she’s gone with Sir Ronald MacDonald
His wife and his darling to be.
