AHINT DA DAEKS O VOE. Scottish, Reel (cut time). Scotland, Shetland Isles. D Mixolydian. Standard tuning (fiddle). AA'B. A traditional Shetland reel that, as legend has it, was heard and remembered by a fiddler captured by the fairy folk (trows) on his way home from a weddingbehind the dykes of Voe. They kept him imprisoned for three hours, or so he thought, before releasing him, but, when he returned home he was told he had been missing for three days. wikipedia:Tom_Anderson_(fiddler) (1910-1991) recalled these words that went with the tune:

Some say da De’il is dead,
And some say he’s no,
Some say he’s casting peats
Ahint da daeks o Voe.
