OLD CHRISTMAS MORNING [4]. American, Air (6/8 time). A Mixolydian. Standard tuning (fiddle). One part. Melvin Wine's "Old Christmas Morning (4)", musically unrelated to other tunes with the same title, is a rare Appalachian triple (6/8) time melody meant as an air and not as a dancing tune, even though played quickly. It is a different tune than the similarly-titled major mode, duple time, "Christmas Morning" and "Old Christmas", different tunes in Wine's repertory.
