X:1 T:Ce Pouflas N:From the playing of fiddler Lawrence Older (Middle Grove, Saratoga County, N:northeast New York). N:Older learned most of his repertoire from his parents, part of an intergenerational N:legacy, although this tune was obtained from another regional fiddler of repute, N:Earl Eddy, who had learned it from a man from Quebec named 'Joe Baker'. "It should be N:pointed out that in the southern Adirondacks any Canadian is called a Frenchman, and N:almost every Canadian is called Joe Baker, whether his name be Bolduc or Thibedeau." N:Liner notes to Folk Legacy FSA-15, by Peter E. McElligott, Schenectady, New York. M:C| L:1/8 D:Folk Legacy Records FSA-15, Lawrence Older - "Adirondack Songs, Ballads and Fiddle Tunes" (1963).
