BADIN LE. AKA and see "Plumb Pudding." The melody first appears in Rutherford's Choice Collection of Sixty of the Most Celebrated Country Dances (London, 1750). Although the tunes are different, it may have been modeled after a French country dance called "La Badine" that appears in early 18th century Continental publications.
