ST. BERNARD WALTZ. Scottish, English; Waltz (3/4 time). The St. Bernard’s Waltz is a rather elementary couple or ‘sequence’ dance that was quite popular in the 1920's and 1930’s, and for several decades thereafter. Its popularity has diminished in modern times, although it is sometimes still called for at Scottishceilidh dances. An early recording was the 1934 78 RPM by the Scottish group Bob Smith and His Ideal Band.
