PICK YOUR PARTNER (Tog Do Callaide/Companac). Irish, Reel. B Minor ('A' part) & D Major ('B' part). Standard tuning (fiddle). AA'B (O'Neill/1850 & 1001): AA'BB' (O'Neill/Krassen). The tune is quite similar to well-known session reel “Glass of Beer (The)," and is similar to James S. Kerr's "Piper's Glass (The)." Paul de Grae notes that fiddler Paddy Glackin played a medley on his first album called "McFadden's Reels", sourced from Donegal fiddler John Doherty, in which the second tune in his set is very similar to McFadden's "Pick Your Partner"^[1].
