FRANKLIN COUNTY BLUES. American, Country Blues (cut time). C Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. "Franklin County Blues" was recorded by the Dixie Ramblers, a string band from Russellville, Alabama, in the northwestern part of the state. The four-piece band released four instrumental sides, recorded in Birmingham in 1937 (their vocal numbers were rejected), and were joined for the recording by an unnamed African American bass player.
