JENNY PICKING COCKLES [3]. Irish, Reel. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. Researcher Conor Ward finds the tune under this title in the c. 1885 music manuscript collection of fiddler Francis Reynolds of Gaigue, Ballinamuck, County Longford. It is a version, notes Ward, of "Johnny's Gone to France (3)" and "Old Maids of Galway (1) (The)," albeit a rather distanced one.
