LIVERPOOL JACK'S. AKA and see "Dan Backus' Favorite," "Going to the Fair," "Jim Coleman's (1)," "Miss McGuinness (3)," "Take your Choice," "Terence's Ramble." American (?), Reel. F Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. A tune of unknown provenance. William Bradbury Ryan had versions in his Ryan's Mammoth Collection (1883) under titles "Dan Backus' Favorite" and "Terence's Ramble" as well as "Liverpool Jack's." Francis O'Neill must have been convinced it was Irish, for he printed versions in his volumes of Irish music as "Take your Choice," "Going to the Fair" and "Terence's Ramble."
