"Mrs. Chree" was composed by Aberdeenshire fiddler-composer and Scottish dancing master wikipedia:James_Scott_Skinner (1843-1927). Skinner noted that Mrs. Chree resided at the schoolhouse, Keig in Aberdeenshire. She presumably was a schoolmaster's wife.
