Wilken's Favourite" was composed by Aberdeenshire fiddler-composer and Scottish dancing master wikipedia:James_Scott_Skinner (1843-1927) as a 'solo' strathspey, meaning a strathspey for listening, not for dancing. Skinner noted that 'Mr. Wilken' was an amateur violinist from village of Ellon, Aberdeenshire.
