HARE IN THE CORN [2] (An Gearrfiad 'San Arbar). Irish (originally), American; Jig. D Mixolydian. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABBCC. Not apparently related to version #1. Captain Francis O'Neill wrote (in Irish Folk Music, 1910) that he took this tune from "an American collection," presumably the version from Ryan's Mammoth Collection, in which the notatation is identical to (Carolan, 1997). Breathnach (1985) states that O'Neill's second part does not go with the "Hare in the Corn" tune. See also the related "Art O'Keeffe's (1)."
