Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. "Bachal an ghrinn or The Rakes March" was entered into Book 1 (p. 22) of the mid-19th music manuscript collection of County Cork cleric and uilleann piper wikipedia:James_Goodman_(musicologist) (1828-1896). The jig appears under the title "Jackson's Babby" in the c. 1865 Gunn Manuscript collection from County Fermanagh, while the variant "Tanning the Leather" is to be found in the Rice-Walsh manuscript (a collection of music from the repertoire of Jeremiah Breen, a blind fiddler from North Kerry), and "Leanbh Mo Chroí" in the Stephen Grier manuscript (County Leitrim).
