BRIAR PATCH. American, Reel (whole time). USA, Texas. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABBCC. One of the "Sally Ann (1)" variants, though at least one tune by this title is a variant of "Sally Johnson." Fiddler Cecil Brower, former fiddler for the group Lightcrust Doughboys, recorded this tune in 1962. No relation to Melvin Wine's "Black Cat in the Briar Patch."
