A Minor (Fiddler Magazine): A Dorian (Perlman). Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB (Perlman) AA'BB' (Fiddler Magazine). Compare "Pigeon on the Gatepost" [1] and [2], both collected from Prince Edward Island fiddlers, though sixty years apart. Ken Perlman (1995) notes it is a reel widely played on P.E.I., often referred to as one of the "good old tunes." “Twin Sisters (1),” “Jack Tar,” and “The Sturgeon Tea” are alternate PEI titles.
