BOBBING AROUND [2]. English, Morris Dance Tune (6/8 time). G Major (Mallinson): A Major (Bacon). Standard tuning (fiddle). AB (Bacon): ABB, x4 (Mallinson). Similar to "Bobbing Around (1)." This version is from the village of Bampton, in England's Cotswolds. See also note for "annotation:When We Went Bobbing Around" for more on the American song that the English morris dance tune is derived from. The title is "Bobbing Joe" in the Robbins Collection (New York, 1933), but this is a mistake: "Bobbing Joe" is a title that properly belongs to another tune altogether.
