SPRINGTIME IN BATTERSEA. English, Waltz (3/4 time). C Major (‘A’ and ‘B’ parts) & G Major (‘C’ part). Standard tuning (fiddle). ABACAB. Composed by Tommy Williams who recorded an album for Free Reed Records at the age of 86. On the recording he talked about his career playing and tuning concertinas for the famous maker Lachenal in London in the early 20th century. He took his concertina to the trenches in France to entertain the troops in World War I.
