OVER THE BRIDGE TO BECTA. Irish, Reel (whole or cut time). C Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB (O'Connor): AAB (Donnellan). A version of the same tune appears in the tune list of a contemporary fiddler, Phillip Goodman, under the title "Over the Bridge to Peggy." Compare with O'Neill's "Over the Bridge to Peggy (2)."
- ↑ Donnellan researcher Gerry O'Connor has come to believe the ms. is was not collected by Donnellan himself. Rather, it was the work of an unknown but able Oriel region fiddler who collected it during the course of a playing lifetime, probably in the late 19th century. The ms. came into the possession of Donnellan by the early 20th century.
