BRAES O' FORBES, THE. AKA - "Fiddler's Braes o' Forbes (The)." Scottish, Pipe Strathspey (whole time). A Mixolydian. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. "Braes o' Forbes" was composed by George S. McLennan (1884-1929), Pipe Major with the Gordon Highlanders. Paul Stewart Cranford (2015) published a version that circulated for some time among Cape Breton fiddlers as an untitled traditional tune. The fiddle version differs
