CRONIN'S REEL [1]. AKA and see "Callaghan's Reel (1)," "Johnny Cronin's Reel," "Kitty O'Neill (4)." Irish, Reel. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABC. Kerry fiddler Johnny Cronin (1934-1991), for whom the reel is named, emigrated from Gneevegullia, Co. Kerry, to New York in the 1960's and became a fixture of the New York Irish music scene for some 25 years. He was a contemporary of Andy McGann (who influenced him greatly), and was known for his colorful, boisterous character. He was the brother of fiddler County Kerry fiddler wikipedia:Paddy_Cronin (1925-2014).
