BAIE DES SABLES. French-Canadian, Reel (cut time). B Flat Major ('A' part) & G Minor ('B' part). Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. Baie des Sables is a small town in the Gaspésie region of Quebec. Researcher Jean Duval finds Boucher's "Baie des sables" to be a 'crooked' (asymmetrical) version of Charles Coote's (1808-1880) popular composition "Winter Night Schottische," a popular piece that engendered several derivative pieces.
