WHITE HORSE [1], THE. AKA and see "Welcome Home to Your Mother." Irish, Air (6/8 time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The first strain is similar to "Irish Lawyer (The)" published in London by the Thompsons in 1757. County Cork cleric and uilleann piper Canon James_Goodman_(musicologist) entered the tune into Book 2 (p. 178) of his large mid-19th century music manuscript collection under the title "Welcome Home to Your Mother."
