REEL DES COURTURIERS. French-Canadian, Reel (2/4 time). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. Researcher Jean Duval has found the tune under the title "La balance" in Boucher's 1927 unprinted music manuscript collection, the precursor to his 1933 printed edition. Many of Boucher's titles from the 1927 work were changed in the subsequent edition. Duval identifies the first strain as possibly related to the Scottish country dance tune "Bonny Breast Knot](s)."
