ISLE DE MALBA. French-Canadian, Reel (2/4 time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. Researcher Jean Duval compares this tune with the group of tunes typified by "Four Poster Bed (The)" in which the fiddler taps the corners of the top of the instrument with the end of his/her bow in conjunction with rests or pizzicato notes in the music. He points to "Quatre coins de St-Malo" as being another such tune in Québec repertory.
