SCOTCH REEL [7], A. AKA and see "Lustian's Reel, "Now is the Time." Scottish(?), Reel (whole time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABBCC. This untitled reel is contained in the 1760's music manuscript collection of Cumbrian musician Joseph Barnes. John Offord edited the tune to begin on the first 'd' note. Fairly close versions of the tune appear in Elias Howe's Musician's Omnibus Nos. 6 & 7 (Boston, 1882-1883) under the title "Lustian's Reel," and in Coe's Volume of Jigs and Reels (1876) as "Now is the Time."
