QUEEN CHARLOTTE'S MINUET. AKA and see "New York Minuet." English, Minuet (3/4 time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The tune was entered into the large 1840 music manuscript collection of Cumbrian musician John Rook as "Queen Charlotte's Minuet." However, it is first found as "New York Minuet" in Richard Baldwin's periodical The London Magazine; or, Gentleman's Monthly Intelligencer of February, 1760 (p. 99), as "New York Minuet."
