BARNET RACES. English, Jig (6/8 time). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The tune can be found in two musicians' manuscript collections. It was entered into the music copybook inscribed "Majr John Gaylord Jr. Owner of This Musick Book" c. 1816, of Connecticut. It also can be found in the large mid-19th century music manuscript of Manchester, England, musician biography:John Roose (No. 234).
