BILL NORTHCUTT (1935-1992). Born on a farm in Crystal City, Texas. He picked up a fiddle in his sophomore year of High School and was largely self-taught. After stints in the Air Force he returned to Fort Worth, Texas, to work in the aviation industry and made friends with renowned Texas fiddlers Benny Thomasson, Major Franklin, Lewis Franklin, and Vernon and Norman Soloman. Later he moved to Houston for work for the H & H Music company, and then opened his own store, the Fiddle & Bow Music Co.
