JAMES DAVIE. Violinist and composer at Aberdeen who published the Caledonian Repository in six volumes and The Music of the Church of Scotland (1841). He established the Aberdeen Choral Society which held a Musical Festival in 1834, and was a choir master at St. Andrew's Church about 1835. Davie died at Aberdeen in November, 1857, aged 74.
