WHAT DO YOU THINK OF HER NOW? AKA and see “Bashful Maid (The),” “Biddy Maloney,” “Maloney’s Fancy,” “Maloney's Wife” “Mellonie's Jig,” “Miss Ommany's Reel,” “Paddy in London.” English, Jig (6/8 time). England, Northumberland. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The melody appears under this title in the 1770 music manuscript copybook of Northumbrian musician William Vickers, about whom little is known. The title seems unique to Vickers, although the tune is fairly well known in Irish and Scottish collections under different names.
