BUNINGFORD ASSEMBLY. English, Jig (6/8 time). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The melody was first published in Sylvanus Urban's periodical The Gentleman's Magazine and Historical Chronicle for April, 1753. The title perhaps refers to the village of Buntingford, Herefordshire, formerly a stop-over on the road between London and Cambridge.
