CUPID'S WALTZ. AKA - "Cubit's Waltz." AKA and see: "Duchess of Bedford Waltz (1)," "Salamanca Waltz." English, Waltz. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABC. Peter Kennedy notes that the tune is used for a child's singing game called "Poor Mary sits a-weeping." A version of the waltz was entered into the c. 1850 music manuscript collection of Manchester, England, musician biography:John Roose (parts reversed from Kennedy's version).

The waltz section of the barn dance "Swedish Masquerade" is similar to "Cupid's Waltz."
