JAMES GANNON'S BARN DANCE [4].AKA and see "Lynch's Barn Dance (1)," "Will Atkinson's Schottische." Irish, Barn Dance (cut time). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. Fiddler James Gannon, County Sligo, was teacher to both Michael Colman and Michael Gorman, each of whom recorded tunes they had leaned from Gannon. Northumbrian harmonica player Will Atkinson recorded a three-part version of the tune (with an inserted 2nd strain) as an untitled schottische (see "Will Atkinson's Schottische"). Compare the tune with "Green Mountain Boys (3)," which corresponds particularly in the second strain.
