"Lord Blake's Favorite" is the title for the tune in Boston music publisher Elias Howe's Musician's Omnibus Nos. 6 & 7 (1880-1882), however, as Fr. John Quinn points out, it was originally called "My Tocher's the Jewel," a Scottish jig attributed to bandleader, fiddle-composer, music teacher and publisher wikipedia:Nathaniel_Gow (1763-1831). Howe's title may be a mishearing of another alternate title for the tune, "Lord Elcho's Favorite."
