QUINN'S JIG [1] (Port Uí Chuinn). AKA and see "Aherlow Jig," "Connie O'Connell's Jig (1),” "Michael Dwyer's Jig," "Money I Want (The)," "Philip O'Neill," "Ryan's Travels," "Spirits of Whisky (2)," "Three Little Drummers (4)," "Two and Sixpenny Girl (1) (The)." Irish, Jig (6/8 time). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. According to Breathnach (1985), the title "Quinn's Jig" was from County Kerry. Quinn may have been Sean Quinn, a flute player from Cordal, County Kerry, and the source for all influential County Kerry fiddler Padraig O’Keeffe’s tunes with the name Quinn attached. However, the tune is widespread with numerous variants under a variety of titles. According to Breathnach (1985), "Ryan's Travels" was a County Limerick name for the jig.
