NIGGER^[1] IN THE COTTON PATCH. American, Reel. This offensive tune title is mentioned in a newspaper account as having been played in a 1922 Georgia fiddling championship held in Atlanta. "N..... in the Cotton Patch," a version of "Sally Goodin'", was recorded in Atlanta by Georgia fiddler Earl Johnson and his group in 1928.
