LONGFORD JIG [2], THE. Irish, Jig (6/8 time). A Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. "Longford Jig" was recorded on accordion in New York by musician Frank Quinn(1893-1964), originally from Greagh, Drumlish, Co. Longford. It has some similarities to some members of the "Gillan's Apples (1)" family of tunes, and it may be the version that Brendan Breathnach maintained was the "County Leitrim name for the tune."
