JIMMY DOYLE'S (SLIDE). AKA and see "Dan Patsy's Slide," "John Dore's Favourite," "Paudy Scully's," "Tournafulla Slide," "Turnip Jig." Irish, Slide (12/8 time). Ireland, Sliabh Luachra region of the Cork-Kerry border. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. A popular Sliabh Luachra slide that goes by a variety of titles, usually (as is the case with many slides and polkas) called after the particular musician's source for the tune. Source for notated version: accordion player Patsy Cronin (Shrone, County Kerry) via accordion player Johnny O'Leary (Sliabh Luachra region) {O'Leary said of Cronin: "He was four or five miles away from me and he played tunes I never heard of"} [Moylan].
