MILLER OF DRONE [2], THE. Scottish, Country Dance Tune (6/8 time). B Flat Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). The piece appears in the Bodleian Manuscript (in the Bodleian Library, Oxford), inscribed "A Collection of the Newest Country Dances Performed in Scotland written at Edinburgh by D.A. Young, W.M. 1740" (p. 25). Young, an Edinburgh fiddler and writing master, also included "Miller of Dron [sic]" in his McFarlane Manuscript (c. 1741, p. 275).
