Jean-Baptiste April's version : Le salut des dames
Fiddler Jean-Baptiste April, from Notre-Dame-du-Portage, recorded in 1918 by Marius Barbeau, had a two part version of the tune he called Le Salut des dames, which is the name of one part of a quadrille. He played a variation on the B part. I suppose it does support the idea that a 2-part version was in ciculation in 19th century and early 20th century in Quebec, and that Ringuette (or Ti-Gars Gobeil!) added the third part.
