KRIDEN FAIR. AKA - "Cleiden Fair." AKA and see "Croydon Fair (1)." English, Jig (6/8 time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The jig was first printed in Richard Baldwin's periodical London Magazine, Or, Gentleman's Monthly Intelligencer of June, 1756 (p. 293), with directions for a country dance. Matt Seattle notes that another version of the tune is to be found in the Jospeph Joice music manuscript (1794), where it is called "Cleiden Fair."
