HONORABLE MRS. DRUMMOND OF PERTH, THE. AKA - "Honorable Miss Drummond of Perth (2) (The)." Scottish, Strathspey. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB'. Composed by John Bowie. Mrs. Drummond was Clementina Elphinstone (d. 1822), daughter of Charles Elphinstone, 10th Lord Elphinstone. She married James Drummond in 1785, who was created Lord Perth in 1797. James died in 1800. They had two children, a son and daughter (another child, died in infancy), although the boy died at age seven. The surviving child, Clementina Sarah Drummond, matured into a patroness of the highest order and had several melodies dedicated to her or written in her honor (see "Miss Clementina Sarah Drummond of Perth," "Miss Sarah Drummond of Perth (1)").
