"The Murphy Reel" is fiddler Erskine Morris's version of "Crowley's (2)," a reel famously recorded in 1935 by County Sligo fiddle master wikipedia:Michael_Coleman_(fiddler) as the second in a set of reels labelled "Crowley's". Morris (1913-1977) was originally from Douglastown, eastern Gaspé, Québec. Coleman's set was also recorded by Montreal fiddler Jean Carignan (Philo FI 2001, "Jean Carignan", 1973).
